F-100A 53-1601 of the 118th FIS/103rd FIG Connecticut ANG photographed at Westover AFB on 21 May 1960.
The Flying Yankee squadron insignia would be moved to a location forward on the fuselage under the windscreen
when the round Minuteman ANG insignia was ussued for placement on the tail of all ANG aircraft. From the Joe
Baugher serials group: (MSN 192-96) with 118th FIS, Connecticut ANG. to MASDC Feb 9, 1966. To Republic of
China AF as 31601, code 0222. WFU.

 

 

Built as F-100A-10NA 53-1541, this jet was assigned to the 479th Fighter-Day Wing
at George AFB, CA on 29 September 1954.It is seen in this photo operating in the Air Defense role
assigned to the 118th FIS/103rd FIG Connecticut ANG at Bradley International AP on 28 July 1965.

Museum (HAMM) at Tyler, TX., was photographed on 30 May 2013. The Museum described
this jet as F-100D 55-3537 though a trusted source has advised she was actually F-100A 53-1684.

in the tail stripe, which indicated these jets are from the 127th TFS/184th TFG based at McConnell AFB

 

 

Showing a wonderful respect for history, F-100C 54-2014 was photographed by
R.W. Harrison at Otis ANGB in August, 1972, finished in a a color scheme that
went back a dozen years. Several of the 188th TFS jets wore this c/s at that time.
